Welcoming 2026 – and a new Community Diagnostic Centre in Hereford!
We’re delighted to announce that this new, patient-focused facility has opened its doors to the public, providing a calming and non-institutional space for imaging and testing appointments.
Architype collaborated with experts Medical Architecture and Speller Metcalfe on the CDC, which form part of a national initiative that brings healthcare away from hospitals and directly in the community, specialising in X Ray, CT and MRI as well as more routine blood testing facilities.
Our designs centred on:
Patient experience, creating a welcoming environment
Staff comfort, providing the flexibility and accessibility for all staff to work to their best ability
Sustainability, guided by Passivhaus principles and the NHS Zero Carbon Building Standard, with a BREEAM Excellent score of 74.1%
It’s been a truly exciting journey, to be part of a scheme that supports our local community in Hereford and eases the burden on the county hospital.
