The involvement of the teachers, pupils and community in planning their new school helped to create a building that is synonymous with their values. The curvilinear form of the building, it’s orientation, position and plan all relate strongly to the site. Materials such as local stone, timber cladding and green roofs along with good day lighting and ventilation help create a healthy, vibrant environment that supports and enhances teaching and learning.
…the work done on education for sustainable development and the involvement of pupils in planning the new school building are exemplary.
