Our approach looked to options that would not just decarbonise, but that holistically improved comfort and wellbeing - essential for care environments. Using our EnerPHit Informed Retrofit Plan methodology for a structured response, proposed a fabric-first strategy addressing the building's fundamental performance failures, with data rigorously modelled in PHPP.
The approach reduces heating demand by 70%, saves 47 tonnes of carbon annually, and directly improves conditions for residents and patients.
The EiRP delivered five modelled retrofit options alongside a phased implementation roadmap, giving the Trust both the evidence and the flexibility to act. Phase 1, a window and door replacement, has been completed by the client, with Phase 2 now in development.
Structured as a replicable pilot for NHS-wide rollout, it demonstrates our team's ability to deliver both strategic vision and honest, evidence-led design.
