Driven by a passion for environmentally sustainable and socially conscious design, Emily has worked at Architype since 2014 and leads a portfolio of public sector Passivhaus projects. Emily helped establish and now manages Architype’s information management group, advising clients on their project and asset information requirements.

Emily has led several key projects across the housing, community and education sectors, and more recently has assisted with Architype’s newly founded Edinburgh office. Following her work to deliver a series of Passivhaus schools in Wales, she currently oversees a group of Scottish primary schools, challenging conventional classroom design with open plan, agile spaces and fully integrated community hubs.

Emily is involved in setting up and maintaining Architype’s BIM protocols, providing training and support to co-owners to ensure a structured approach to our delivery.

After graduating from the University of Cambridge in 2010, Emily went on to study for a professional diploma in Architecture: Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies at the Centre for Alternative Technology. She completed her professional qualifications at Cardiff University and was presented with the Stanley Hall Cox Prize for academic excellence. More recently, Emily completed the Advanced Professional Certificate in Construction Project Management with the APM.

Emily enjoys disseminating the latest thinking in sustainable and digital design – and regularly shares best practice and lessons learnt through presentations, discussions, and articles. She is a visiting tutor at the Centre for Alternative Technology (Machynlleth) and has taught at UCL and Cardiff University.
