Architype
Recognition for both practice and projects!
By Jessica Taylor
What a way to end the week on a high! We were thrilled to hear the news this morning that we have been named the best employer in the construction industry by the Building Good Employers Guide!
Having been in the top 5 for the last two years, we consider it one of the most important industry awards to compete for, so it was great to finally reach the number 1 spot. The complementary award magazine published by Building, covers the top 50 industry employers and offers a great insight into what initiatives other practices and companies are putting in place to support their staff – well done to everybody that was shortlisted!
In other good news, for the second year in a row, we have also been shortlisted for the CIBSE Building Performance Awards 2017, ‘Project of the Year – Public use’ category, with our design for the Herefordshire Archive and Records Centre. The very thorough and in-depth submission process for this award offers some insight into the high standards that the judges are looking for, so it was an honour to make the shortlist once again. With thanks to E3 Consulting Engineers and Elemental Solutions for helping to gather all of the necessary data for this. We look forward to hearing the results in February.
And finally, we are pleased to announce that an Architype project has been recognised in the prestigious Civic Trust Awards 2017. The Enterprise Centre at the University of East Anglia has been nominated for the regional heats, and awaits to hear if it has made the national finals, which will be announced in December. The nomination is one of 19 shortlists that the building has so far been selected for, generating great recognition for sustainable architecture and construction.
