July marks another topical event for networking group WSCP – Women in Sustainable Construction and Property.

For this month’s theme ‘Making Strides in Passivhaus Development’, organisers have invited Architype’s managing director, Jonathan Hines, given his commitment and knowledge in implementing the standard to a variety of domestic and non-domestic projects over the years.

Jonathan, who will open the discussion at Architype’s London Office, will be taking a pragmatic line on the standard in his talk ‘Making Passivhaus Work’, where he will outline how Architype has made Passivhaus affordable to construct, and share the findings of our monitoring of internal environmental conditions and energy consumption in Passivhaus and Non-Passivhaus schools.

Presentations to follow will include a talk from Lynne Sullivan, the founding partner of Sustainable by Design who will cover ‘Lessons for the Industry from Passivhaus Methodology;’ as well as a discussion from Sarah Lewis, Associate at NPS Group on addressing the UK housing need with Passivhaus in mind.

The seminar will close with a presentation by Priyanka Arora, a carbon consultant from Sturgis Carbon Profiling, outlining how to evaluate sustainability and whole life carbon analysis within the EnerPhit standard.

Tickets are currently available via eventbrite for what is set to be an insightful discussion into Passivhaus development.

The group, WSCP hold a number of similar gatherings, aimed at disseminating knowledge of sustainable issues in construction, as well as providing support and professional development to women in the industry; promoting corporate responsibility, equality and diversity across the built environment sector.
