Melissa is a qualified architect with a diverse portfolio of built projects including residential, mixed-use commercial, innovative conversions of sensitive historic buildings as well as large scale placemaking. She joined Architype’s Edinburgh office in early 2020

Melissa is currently part of a team working on the design of three Edinburgh Passivhaus Primary School projects from concept stage through to construction. In addition to her work at Architype, Melissa is a visiting tutor at the University of Edinburgh, previously teaching the Part 1 Undergraduate course and the Part 3 Practice Management course.

Education

Melissa graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a Bachelor in Architecture and Masters in Architecture with Distinction. Her Masters project was awarded the RIAS Rowand Anderson Silver Medal. Following obtaining her degrees she spent over 2 years working in practices in London and in Edinburgh prior to complete her Part 3 examinations, qualifying as an Architect in 2016.
