Architype is seeking to recruit a new BIM Information Manager to support a number of exciting new projects across the UK.

As a BIM Information Manager, you must be passionate about BIM and Information Management. You must be a team player, eager to learn and passionate about the built environment

You will come from an architectural, engineering or construction background and understand why BIM is causing disruption in the construction industry. You must be passionate about the importance of Information Management through a CDE and be capable of leading the implementation and delivery of digital solutions across our projects.  

You would be ‘based’ in any of our three offices in Edinburgh, London and Hereford, but will be working on projects across the whole practice. You will be expected to work remotely for the foreseeable future, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, but will be fully supported and integrated into our team.

The BIM Information Manager Role

Job Role & Responsibilities:

Your role as BIM Information Manager will involve working and liaising with the complete construction supply chain through the life cycle of a project.

  • Developing, implementing and supporting BIM vision, strategic aspirations, documentation, processes and protocols for a variety of clients and projects.
  • Running Information Management projects for a variety of clients, including administering the Common Data Environment (CDE) across a range of projects.
  • Use either Solibri or Navisworks for clash detection & Data checking.
  • Exporting & federating COBie spreadsheets for construction projects.
  • Attend and run client meetings.
  • Keeping abreast of relevant legislative changes, industry issues and developments in best practice.
  • Positively contributing to and participating in internal/external training initiatives. 
  • Assist internal project teams review, comment and agree the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) with the client and consultants 
  • Proactive team member, willing to learn and contribute to the wider Architype team.
  • Support the business development team with prospects including technical qualification, preparation, scope of works and delivery of effective demonstrations and technical presentations.

Job Specification

Essential:

  • Experience of working in the construction industry.
  • You will be expected to have at least 2+ years’ experience working in an Information Management or BIM related role. 
  • You will also be expected to have proven competence the following softwares. Revit, Solibri or Navisworks & Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluency and experience with BIM collaborative working processes (UK BIM Framework, BS EN ISO 19650).
  • Familiarity with the Uniclass 2015 Classification System 
  • High standard of proficiency in oral and written communication as well as excellent interpersonal and client facing skills.

Desirable:

  • Confident user of NBS Specification Software.
  • Experience in carrying out BIM technical document review, analysis and audits
  • It would be advantageous if you have first-hand experience in a client-side environment and understand their procedures & documents.
  • Familiarity with the impending requirements of the incoming Building Safety Bill.

This role has excellent prospects for an individual who has a desire to progress and enjoys working collaboratively within a team. As well as technical competence, we are looking for someone with the ability to think laterally, who possesses excellent communication skills, has strong commercial awareness and will provide a premium service to our clients.
