Architype were employed by the Countryside Agency to research and develop a new policy document promoting high quality sustainable development in the countryside.

A series of consultation seminars were held with industry experts and lay people to explore ideas and issues prior to drafting the policy.

The purpose of the policy is to promote:

• Contemporary buildings that enhance local character and respect their context

• Community involvement in the design process

• Sustainable construction and ecologically sound materials

Architype is now involved in promoting the policy with the Agency through a programme of conferences around the UK.
