Chris originally joined Architype in July 2017 its the Hereford office, working on Agar Grove at RIBA stage 4 as well as assisting on several school projects.

He rejoined the company in July 2021 after completing his final year at Cardiff University and has been involved with RIBA stage 4 detailing of North Muirton Primary School. In addition to this he has been part of the team auditing a series of models for Passivhaus analysis for decarbonizing Edinburgh City Council’s building assets.

Graduating in 2021, Christopher then returned to work for Architype in the Edinburgh office.

He has a keen interest in working on educational buildings to the Passivhaus standard and strives for the simplification of construction on site.

Education

Chris completed his undergraduate at The University of Plymouth in 2017. Whilst in his final year of BArch he was awarded the BDP Collaboration Prize – Best Group work resolution of Plymouth Masterplan. He continued to work for Architype into 2020 whilst he completed his ‘year in practice’ at the Welsh School of Architecture at Architype whilst completing his 4th year.

His thesis focus in his final year at the Welsh School of Architecture was on the reuse of a redundant 1987 shopping centre and his dissertation focused on the moral question of reusing rural churches for glamping in order to maintain them for future generations.

His final project was nominated for an Architecture and Politics Award.
