Mark Barry

Mark graduated from Birmingham School of Architecture in 2001 where he chose to focus on environmental and contextual design. Since joining Architype in 2007, he has further developed his skills in sustainable design with particular focus on the Passivhaus approach, having designed a housing scheme, and the new St Katherine’s Library to this standard. Mark is also currently running a conversion scheme for a complex of barns in Somerset and the major alteration and extension to St Michael’s Hospice, Hereford. Mark has in-depth practical building knowledge and restored his C17th timber framed cottage. He enjoys growing his own fruit and vegetables at the home he shares with his wife Claire, their two daughters, 8 chickens, 7 ducks and 2 cats.
