The first phase of this feasibility study was to provide a series of costed options that would address the deficiencies in the Victorian junior wing of this landmark primary school. A second phase included a more detailed feasibility study and concept designs.

The project aims to create a pilot scheme for sustainable school design in Southwark, incorporating many innovative features:

• Rainwater recycling

• Photovoltaic cladding generating electricity and providing sun shading to window openings

• Major IT and Urban Study Centre shared with other schools

It is also envisaged that the IT facility, along with the school hall and pool on the ground floor, will be open after hours for community use.
