Architype’s design for the new Dalby Forest Visitor Centre proposes a vibrant focus, to be implemented in two stages: a new cycle centre in phase one, and a new visitor centre in phase two. The design uses an innovative concept based around three elements; a canopy ‘floating’ above the valley slope, crafted boxes demonstrating timber technologies, and sculpted landforms to control and enhance movement.

An ecologically sound and healthy environment is intended, incorporating:

• locally sourced Timber

• energy efficiency and conservation strategies

• natural and sustainable materials

• incorporation of renewable energy systems including a dramatic array of Photovoltaic panels

Our strategy for the site respects the forest’s diverse range of users, enriching their experience with new features and improved connections.
