Architype was delighted to collect the ‘Highly Commended’ Prize for Sustainability at the Constructing Excellence Wales awards dinner this month, following a competitive two-round submission and presentation to demonstrate to the judges the sustainable qualities of this multi-use visitor centre extension.

The panel was impressed by the innovative use of welsh-grown and manufactured Brettstapel construction, a first for the UK, proving that real innovation is possible even on small scale projects with tighter budgets.

The centre’s feedback since opening with the new extension really speaks for itself, delivering on sustainability and a bright future for the centre socially, environmentally and economically.

It was an enjoyable night, and a great opportunity to catch up with lots of familiar faces in Welsh construction. Thanks to all our guests for attending and congratulations to all the team involved with delivering this special project.
